Revolution

Before the French and Indian War there were 13 colonies in America
"No taxation without representation!"
The Revolutionary War started in April 1775
The colonists declared their on July 4th 1776, in Philadelphia

Slavery and the Civil war

Abraham Lincoln became president of The United States in 1860
Lincoln's victory lead to the abolishment of slavery
The emancipation proclamation freed the slaves in the ten states that were fighting against the north in the civil war

The USA in WW I and WW II

Isolationism, to stay out of the war for as long as possible (stay isolated)
In 1917, an American boat was attacked. This forced America's hand and they helped to end the war as soon as 1918
The League of Nations was a legion formed to secure peace throughout the world
America declared full out war on the 11th of December 1941
Harry S. Truman made the executive decision to drop the two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The women had to go work in the factories, proving that they could do the men's job just as well as themselves

The Cold War

The USSR and the US had a common enemy under WW II, when that common enemy vanished, the vast differences in ideology started showing
The USSR was the first to launch a satellite into Space in 1957
Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev
